Concepcion, Paraguay (January 26, 2009)

Well this week was a good week. It was very, very hot. There are no trees in Concepcion. Well there are, but we walk in the dirt roads and there are none there so it's an interesting experience. You guys are going to die out here.
So this week we are really trying to find more people that will progress. So we were contacting in a place that I have never been and we were walking and I had the feeling that we needed to talk to this house. So I said to my comp, "Hey, let's go talk to this house." So we clapped and this old lady came out and she looked so sad and she invited us in and told us she was having a lot of problems. So she told us about her daughter's baby that was really sick and they didn't know what was wrong with the baby and thought that maybe it was going to die. So me and my comp asked if we could give her a blessing. My comp did the blessing and then we left. We went back the next day and found out that the baby was doing a lot better and she told us right when we left and after the prayer the baby started doing better. It was one of the most powerful things that has happened in the mission. Now she is progressing a lot and she wants to read the Book of Mormon.

The other day I was teaching and I realized a couple things. I walked up to this hut and looked for a brick to sit on. I was teaching about Jesus...and like it's weird...I am so far away teaching Indians and it is cool...teaching people that really don't have anything but will give everything.
So we had a baptism on Saturday and it went really good. There were 5 adults there and 15 teenagers so it went really good. He had been studying for like 5 years.
