San Lorenzo, Paraguay (November 16, 2009)

Hey there family how are you all doing..
I am doing good, just a lil tired. Today we went and played soccer on an astro turf field, so it was really cool. It is fun to play on that. But this week was a good week. We really worked our tails off. I am always tired. I think it might be because we work a ton, like 12 hours a day in the hot sun. But yeah, I love it here. It is funny, cause I was thinking about my mission, like we suffer from heat, not having water or lights a lot of the time, from sickness, walking through lakes and rivers, walk a lot, getting yelled at, and many more. To the normal person that would be considered suffering, but to me it is the Paraguay Asuncion North mission, the best one in the world. I would not trade anything for the mission. It is a good one.
This week we worked really hard. We really wanted to talk to a lot of people to work with, and so we were contacting a lot and we found this one kid that is 23 named Marcelo. It was cool because he came to church and it was raining. You don’t understand, when it is raining no one leaves the house, and he came and he really liked it, which is cool. The meetings here are always funny. Something always happens, but it turned out all good.
But really this week nothing really crazy happened, mainly just working our tails off and trying to find new people. I have so much time in this area I have contacted everyone, so I feel weird, but it is good. It rained a lot, like you can tell from the photos that I sent you. It rained, and when it rains here everything shuts down. In church 90 less people came and no one leaves the house. We had to walk around for a long time to get lessons and it was really hard.
But we found a lot of people this week.We were expecting 10 in church, but only 3 came, because of the rain. It's frustrating, cause when we work with someone and they don’t go to church they are not progressing and so it is a shame when no one arrives in the church, but it is just part of the test.
Anyways, I got a package today for Christmas and I wanted to open it so bad, but don’t worry, I didn’t.
But yeah, the power plant called Itapu failed and all of Paraguay and Brazil lost power, but luckily we only lost it for about 30 minutes, cause it was hot, and I can't sleep without a fan .
But that is really all that I have for right now. I love you all and hope that you are all good.
Chan
