Luque, Paraguay (Questions - September 2008)

Q: How's the missionary work going? A: Well we had 9 people in church and a family, so that is cool.
Q: Does the McDonalds food there taste like it does here? A: Yeah it tastes the same, but here it is chuchi and nice.
Q: What does chuchi mean? A: Like fancy, lindo, nice.
Q: How's Spanish coming? A: A lot better. I can talk more and more, and understand everything.
Q: Have you gone to the temple yet? A: 23rd of this month.
Q: Do you study your scriptures in English or Spanish? A: Well, both.
Q: How long has your companion been out? A: 1 year and a half.
Q: Tell us about a spiritual experience. A: My recent convert told me that she has been waiting for this baptism for 46 years and I am the one who invited her.
Q: What's the weather like? A: Very cold for a couple days but now hot, hot.
Q: Any baptisms lately? A: No. but we are going to have 3 this week and a wedding.
Q: Do you take pictures of yourself with people you baptize or investigators? A: Yeah we do. I will send some next week.
Q: Do the mosquitoes still bother you? A: NOPE!!!
Q: What do you cook and eat these days? A: Mustard chicken wings, omelets, smoothies, brasilian rice, a lot now.
Q: Do you ever eat at that McDonalds you took a picture of? A: I eat it every once in awhile.
Q: Can you believe you've been out almost 7 months? A: No, it's so crazy how fast time flies by. Q: What do you want for Christmas and your birthday? A: Wow, uh, give me a couple ideas.
Q: Do you know what "pique"are? Have you had any problems with that? A: Ha ha, yeah, it's the bug that digs into you and then lays eggs. I have not had any problems with that.
Q: Do you still drink a lot of soda? A: Yeah, like all the time.
Q: Do you ever go on splits with the other missionaries? A: Yeah, we do splits every week.
Q: What's your mission president like? A: He is so, so cool and is amazing. It's hard to explain. He feels like family.
Q: Do you still take that "remedy" for your stomach? A: Yeah, I looked up that herb in a book. It's all good.
Q: How far is that lake from you? It's so pretty. A: It's about 45 min. in a bus.
Q: How's it going with your new companion? A: Good. He is so cool, and a lot like me.
