Luque, Paraguay (August 2008)

"Hey Family...Did you all like the package that I sent you guys? This week was a little slow, and it rained a lot. The weather is weird here. One day it is way way hot and the next it is raining and stuff.
Gosh the kids here are so cool, like the lil kids love me. When they see me they run up to me and hug me.
So I have honestly grown to love the people here. The kids are just...idk...I can't explain it. When I talk to a person and they cry I want to help them. I am working with all my heart to help them. I have seen so many people's lives change and it is honestly a miracle. Words can't explain how I feel.
One day I put on my nice new white shirt and then we go to this lady's house for a lesson and her monkey comes running at me and jumps on me hard and gets mud all over my white shirt. So I had a lil hand print on my shirt all day. I am honestly going to buy a monkey.
This is for Dad. Well I was clapping at a house and then this guy in a car was driving and yelled, 'hey come to this house' in really weird sounding Spanish. So I was like, 'cool.' So we go and this girl comes and she looks different than the people here and she starts to talk and it's in Portuguese. My comp can understand it cause he was on the border a long time. This family is straight from Brasil and they are members and they are really active so that is good. But we ate this food like a soup thing and had Brasilian food. It was way good. I just thought that I would rub it in that I'm eating Brasilian food from Brasilians and it is good ha ha. We eat there when we don't have other appointments.
We have been teaching this lady and her kids and she is calidad. She is just way cool. She has a pet monkey and that is cool. She is getting baptized this Wednesday and we are having family home evening tonight with them. Also we are baptizing this lady named Estella. She is smart.
Well I didn't get transferred, so I have a long time here and I am going to be here for another 6 weeks. But it is fine. I like this area. But I did get a new comp. He is a cool guy. Basically he's exactly like me and it's actually kinda weird. He's from Texas. This week was a good week. Tonight is going to be fun. We're having family night with one of my converts. She has had a hard life. She had a baby die a year ago. We came along and taught her and now she is so happy cause she knows that she is going to see her hija again.


Last Pday we got done doing all the things we were doing so we went to this crazy cool lake. It was so much fun. Last night was fun. We were walking and these kids were like 'play volleyball with us,' so we did. We were in our church clothes and we were the best there. We were diving and stuff and we were so so so dirty but it was fun. Gosh I miss water polo so much. All we play here is soccer. Love you all so much. Send more pictures. Chan"
