Luque, Paraguay (Questions - May 2008)

Q: How did your week go? A: Pretty good. Except our power got shut off for 2 days, so nice cold showers.
Q: Are you enjoying being in Paraguay? A: Yeah, it is really cool here. Well a cool place, not cool temp. It is hot, but it rains a
lot.
Q: How's the missionary work going? Are you teaching anyone? A: Well we teach about 15 lessons a day.
Q: Are you getting used to the cultural differences? A: Yeah, a lot. It is crazy, but normal now.
Q: How many missionaries serve in Luque? A: About 12. It's a big area.

Q: How many mosquito bites do you have? A: I only have like 15 now, so it is getting better.
Q: Do you have an oven to cook in? A:Yeah, we have to light it by hand.

Q: What's the most common name there? A: I hear a lot of Blancas and Osvaldo.
Q: What kinds of animals have you s
een? A: Monkeys, bulls, a lot of dogs, cockroaches, we have a pet mouse in our house ha ha.
Q: Do you go to church in a regular church building? A: Right n
ow we go to the stake center which is normal and 20 minutes away.
Q: How's the Spanish coming? A: A lot better. I can talk more now.
Q: Are you still sick? A: Yeah, I have a bug. It comes and goes.
Q: What's your favorite food? A: Lomitos. Look it up. They are good.
Q: What's your favorite thing about Paragua
y? A: Walking....not! The people.
Q: How often do you see your mission president? A: 2 times every change (6 weeks).
Q: Do you do your own laundry or does someone else do it? A: We pay someone to do it.
Q: Where can you mail letters from? A: I just give it to people. It's hard though cause the Paraguay mail system is strict.
Q: How often do you ride on the bus? A: Every day basically.
Q: Have any of your baptisms gone through? A: No, but Wednesday there is one for sure.
Q: Does anyone you know have a computer in their home? A: No.
Q: How much does it cost for you to use the computer at the cyber cafe? A: About 75 cents an hour.
Q: What do most people do there to make money for a living? A: Build things. Actually, there are a lot of random things.
Q: Do most people have televisions? A: Not really, sometimes.
