Luque, Paraguay (January 11, 2010)

Well Paraguay is a hot place. Even though I have been here for 2 years now it is really hot, like I am cooking. But this week was a good week. My birthday was nothing too special. People called and stuff and I got 1 present, a can of peaches, so I was pretty happy. I haven't gotten the package from the ward or your package. Hopefully they come. We got changes and to my surprise I stayed. haha I knew that was going to happen. My new comp is Elder Calle from Colombia. He is the last companion I will have in the mission. It is really weird. I really want to come home, but I am scared of leaving cause this feels more like my home. I am more scared leaving from Paraguay to the states than from when I left home. I am nervous, but it will be a good thing. I am wearing out. I get sick easy and am always a lil tired. 2 years of the heat and food and stress will do that to you I guess. I was called to be a missionary, a church leader, a home teacher, a wedding coordinator, and a person on fear factor with the food. This mission is something else. This week we just really worked hard, like nothing out of the ordinary. This morning was fun. We wanted to have an adventure so at 4 o clock in the morning we got up and went and hiked a hill that was big so that we could see the sun rise and take pictures. It was an adventure, going through a jungle to get there and falling down hills. It was really pretty. We could see everything, like Asuncion and a lake. It was quite amazing. Love you all and hope you are all being safe. And about school, I am going to go to BYUI for at least a semester. Love you. Chan
